A monkey befriends a crocodile who ferries him across a river to eat fruit, until the crocodile's wife demands his heart as a delicacy. Midstream the monkey claims he left his heart in the tree, and talks his way back to shore.

For then I might have brought with me another heart, very sweet indeed, which I keep in a hole in the rose-apple tree.
