The Epic of Gilgamesh, one tablet a day for twelve days. Four thousand years ago someone pressed into clay the story of a tyrant king, the wild man sent to humble him, the friendship that changed them both, and the death that sent Gilgamesh to the end of the world looking for a way to live forever. It survives in broken pieces, and the gaps are part of it. This is the oldest great story we have.
