Shakespeare's King Lear, one scene a day for twenty-six days, from the king calling for a map of his kingdom to the British camp near Dover. An old king divides his country between the daughters who flatter him best and banishes the one who will not, while in the Earl of Gloucester's house a younger son sets out to take his brother's place. Read it a scene at a time over the turn of the year, and follow two fathers who have trusted the wrong children out onto a heath, into the worst storm anyone remembers.
